would i need a visa or manage any other formalities?
The Maldives offers a free 30 day visa on arrival to travellers from all countries including India, UAE, USA, UK and so on provided they have a passport validity of minimum 1 month, confirmed resort booking & confirmed return flight tickets. One must also complete the Health Safety Declaration called IMUGA. This should be done within 96 hours of arrival and again with 96 hours of departure from the Maldives. to book my holiday, do i need to pay the amount upfront?
This depends on how close to your travel dates you book. Bookings made more than 31 days prior to travel, a CozyFlex Deposit (CFD) of only US$100 per person is payable. The balance payments are required 30 days before your vacation. If you book within 30 days of your travel, the entire payable amount would be due in order to confirm your booking.
do you charge any booking fees? or any hidden charges?

CAN I CARRY MY OWN ALCOHOL TO THE MALDIVES?
The Maldives does not permit carriage of liquor into the country. Therefore, it is important that you ensure that you are not carrying any alcohol into the country as it is strictly against their customs regulations. However, almost every resort which is located on it's own island (premium & luxury resorts) serves alcohol to adults above a legal drinking age. Many properties also offer an all-Inclusive plan inclusive of alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages and some resorts are all-inclusive by default.
DO I NEED TO PAY FOR ACTIVITIES SUCH AS SCUBA, SNORKELING ETC?
All luxury resorts in the Maldives provide guests with complimentary snorkeling equipment such as fins, masks etc which can be rented during the course of ones stay to use around the island to explore the amazing marine life. Motorised activities however such as Scuba Diving, JetSki, Parasailing, Seabob and similar are offered by the resort's dive centre (usually operated by a third party) at an additional charge. These activities can either be pre-booked (recommended for Scuba) or else booked on the spot basis the availability and prices offered. Prices usually start at approx. USD 70 per activity with full-fledged 03/05 days dive certifications programs costing anywhere between USD 500-1000 per person depending on the resort.
DO WE GET ANY PERKS IF WE'RE CELEBRATING A SPECIAL OCCASION?

This is definitely possible. However, given the nature and remoteness of the islands in the Maldives, getting from one resort's private island to another sometimes means you have to transit back via Male City to take your next seaplane or speedboat. For this reason, most resorts would require a minimum 3 night stay at their property to ensure travellers have a memorable and seamless experience to get the best of your time there.
