When these school batch mates decided to tie the knot and get planning their dream post-wedding escapade, they had one thing in mind; an uncompromising getaway in the lap of luxury. What better than the emerald isles of the Indian Ocean? Pooja & Prateek met us on Instagram and the rest as they say, was history.
As much as we'd like to take credit for helping them pick their dream destination (which we're great at doing) these honeymooners came to us with the Maldives already in their radar. And boy, you just can't talk someone out of that. If you've been, you'd know, there's hardly any place on the planet that comes close to the exotic, tranquil vibe of the Maldives.
Now, when you're travelling to a destination where you're guaranteed to revel in your villa / resort for 90% of the time and with a plethora of options; getting the resort right is so crucially important. After a proper understanding of what the couple were looking for, and from several of our own travels to this paradisiacal destination, we were sure the W Maldives would be the ideal haven for them to begin writing this new chapter.
Just a 30 minute scenic seaplane ride from Male International Airport, this luxury playground in North Ari Atoll is a sanctuary for a dreamy honeymoon in the Maldives. Why? It begins the moment you get there. The super hospitable team meets you on the jetty, then rides you back on their funky buggy that whips out the latest tunes, 24x7.
Pooja & Prateek opted for the resort's Fabulous Over Water Villa which is truly impressive. Cutting-edge design meets modern comforts with a beautiful private pool, outdoor deck with a gazebo, a BOSE music system and one of the most comfortable beds in all of the Maldives.
This resort has so much going for it that obviously comes with a decent price tag. If you're seeking luxury, W Maldives commands it with good reason. After all, you get their Whatever/Whenever service, eclectic gastronomy and what we call the best marine life + house reef in all of the Maldives. We can't believe we're penning all of this down for free, seriously.

"Everything about our trip was just perfect! Every moment was worth it. But if we had to pick one, it would be our private dinner date at the Coral Terrace which was right between the waves. Oh, and also the snorkeling at W Maldives was an amazing experience." shares Prateek.

NEXT ON THEIR BUCKET-LIST
Having uncovered the serene beauty of the Maldives, we asked the couple as to what destination is next on their list after all of this settles. They gave us a sneak peak that perhaps Australia & New Zealand could be on the cards for some epic adventures. Well, that would make for an incredible Anniversary Getaway now, wouldn't it? (The wife would be happy to hear this!)
